Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,370 meters (4,490 ft) above sea level, Bhimtal offers a tranquil and less commercialized alternative to its more crowded neighbor, Nainital. The town is named after Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers from the Mahabharata, who is believed to have created the central lake. Surrounded by lush green hills, pine, and oak forests, Bhimtal provides stunning natural vistas and a peaceful escape.
