Kishanganj is the easternmost district of Bihar, part of the Purnia division (Seemanchal) and the Mithila region. It shares its borders with Nepal and West Bengal. The district is primarily agricultural, producing crops like paddy, wheat, maize, and jute. Notably, it is the only district in Bihar where organized tea plantation takes place.
