Kaziranga National Park offers a unique wildlife experience, primarily known as the natural habitat of the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros. The park spans approximately 430 square kilometers and features a diverse landscape of tall elephant grass, marshland, dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, and numerous small water bodies. Beyond rhinos, it is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006.
